It was 1963 when Leonardo Specogna, after spending several years as an emigrant in Switzerland (a typical fate for people from Friuli at the time), returned to Friuli Venezia Giulia and passed through the hills of Rocca Bernarda in Corno di Rosazzo for the first time. He fell in love with their beauty and the history that set them apart, and so decided to invest his savings in purchasing a small plot of land in this area at the heart of the Friuli wine region. Land with a strong winemaking tradition, where the vine thrives thanks to unique and exceptional climatic and geological conditions ideal for viticulture.

Year after year, thanks to Graziano Specogna’s dedication, vineyard management and winemaking techniques began to improve, with the estate specialising primarily in wine production. Today, the work is carried on by the third generation of Specogna winemakers, Cristian and Michele, who have been at the helm of the business for some time now. It is they who, with great passion, are focusing on the constant improvement of work in the vineyard and in the cellar, driven by the desire to make the world increasingly and ever more fully aware of the potential of the Friuli Venezia Giulia region. Today, the estate covers an area of approximately 30 hectares, of which around 25 are vineyards managed according to the principles of organic farming.
