Vocal chamber music inspired by the Four Elements

In the gentle landscape of Collio, where borders have become blurred and languages have always mixed, the first of the Serenate in Vigna invites you to enjoy nature, celebrating its enchantment through music, a delightful pastime also enjoyed by mountaineer, botanist, writer, and humanist Julius Kugy (1858-1944), an eclectic figure steeped in the cultures of Central Europe, to whom the concert is in some way dedicated, thanks to an initiative promoted by the Storica Società Operaia di Pordenone in homage to the themes of GO! 2025. 2025. Austrian on his father’s side, Slovenian on his mother’s, born in Gorizia but effectively a native of Trieste, a lover of the peaks that make up the panorama of the Julian Alps, but also of the ancient paths in the Friulian Dolomites, Kugy is the subtle spirit that guides us through this program of chamber music for voice and piano, carefully selected from traditions and composers near and far, historical and contemporary pieces, famous works and works by lesser-known composers, traveling like a light spring breeze along the musical routes of Europe, from the Mediterranean to the steppes of the East. A journey through notes that speaks of love, dreams, romantic views, languid melancholy, and secret anxieties, interpreted by two young voices who, thanks to the Piccolo Opera Festival, are training at the GO! Borderless Opera Lab, trying their hand here at a beautifully crafted repertoire, chosen to let its enchanting call gush forth on the notes of water GO!
