Like a person, a Festival also grows over the years by fomenting more and more of its identity. Now in its eleventh year, the Piccolo Festival has become Piccolo Opera Festival by including in its very name the core of its artistic mission. Growing old should not mean losing the freshness of passion; therefore, the Festival wanted to indulge in this little “Whimsy.”

A “Caprice” perhaps for those who think an Opera Festival is no longer “young” and “modern.” The Piccolo Opera Festival, on the other hand, demonstrated how Opera, among all art forms, is the true interpreter of the Italian way of life in the World.

That is why we decided to double down by offering, after several years, a second opera production (in a living room version) inspired by one of Italy’s, but also our region’s, iconic products: coffee.
