{"id":2931,"date":"2026-05-16T14:33:43","date_gmt":"2026-05-16T12:33:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.piccolofestival.org\/?p=2931"},"modified":"2026-05-21T11:59:41","modified_gmt":"2026-05-21T09:59:41","slug":"duomo-di-sant-adalberto-cormons","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.piccolofestival.org\/en\/duomo-di-sant-adalberto-cormons\/","title":{"rendered":"Duomo di Sant&#8217;Adalberto &#8211; Cormons"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Cathedral, dedicated to Saint Adalbert, is the main church in Corm\u00f2ns, impressive for its grandeur, its location and its bell tower, which is second in height only to that of Aquileia in the entire Diocese of Gorizia.<\/p>\n<p>The first mention of a church dedicated to Saint Adalbert dates back to 1289, in a contract drawn up in the \u2018villa of Cormons in front of the church of Saint Adalbert\u2019; in 1365, meanwhile, there is a reference to a \u2018site located in the centre of Saint Adalbert\u2019<\/p>\n<p>Construction of the present building began in 1756, with the partial demolition of the old church and the incorporation of the old church into the new structure; the old church remained intact during this time to ensure the continuity of religious services.
