In the world there have never been two opinions alike.
Any more than we have ever been two identical hairs or two grains: most universal quality is diversity.

Diversity 2011

With the fourth edition the Piccolo Festival opens up itself to wide collaborations and consolidatse its nature deeply linked to performers training. Create shows with and on young artists enthusiasm becomes more and more our trademark.

The partenrship with the University of Colorado is extremely significant to combine our long tradition with the enthusiasm and organization coming from United States. This meeting was an opportunity to understand how enriching confrontation between different countries and cultures can be. A challenge that we face every day in a society deeply changed and increasingly global. There are many ways to tackle this challenge on which the future of our country and Europe is played.
We propose to do it with music.

This is not the usual cliché on universality of musical language, but the practical demonstration of how to work together around a shared project (in this case, to produce an opera) may be the best way to bring down any barriers.

Giorgio Strehler's Piccolo Teatro was founded as an "international theater, but tied to their roots." So does the Piccolo Festival, while investing on internationalization (without falling into a mannered exoticism) it doesn't forget its roots by continuing to create and offer shows about its territory for its promotion and development through the cultural tool.

With all these weapons and these proposals we prepare for the challenges that lie ahead for the future by investing in all the enormous heritage that our country and our region in particular have, not least that of its diversity.
Investing with courage in what of really unique we have will make us sure to go far without ever forgetting from where we started.
